Where to go for our first camping trip in the new, bigger motorhome? I know, how about Carreg Cennen Castle - not only is it 2 hours drive away the other side of the Brecon Beacons but it's only accessible via narrow, twisty roads, ending up with a single track one with few passing places. Ideal!
Still, the boys had great fun exploring the castle, including this kiln which small people could get into. It didn't end well for Robin though as he caught his back on a stone so it bled in two places. Filling in the accident book after we'd used cotton wool from the tea rooms to clean him up, I finished my description of the accident with "It was entirely his own fault!". I would hate anyone to stop children playing like this over a graze.
The campsite turned out to be pretty busy and we ended up right by the play area. This actually worked out quite well. Toby made a new friend, 6 year old Gabriella. She kept picking him up and cuddling him and he kept running off to find her so she could do so. All very sweet.
